A man disguised as a mountain biker complete with a helmet, sunglasses, and bandages on his nose robbed Rockland Trust Bank on Monday at 3:12 p.m. and received an undetermined amount of cash during the heist.

“He entered the bank and passed one of the bank tellers a note and demanded money,” Sgt. Rick Fuller Jr., said in a press release on Tuesday. “He then fled the bank on a mountain bike.”

The robbery occurred at the Rockland Trust branch on Main Street located near Building 19. Officers responded upon receiving an alarm.

Fuller said the suspect did not display a weapon during the holdup.

“When the suspect entered the bank, he was wearing biking spandex shorts, and a red shirt,” Fuller said. “He had a bike helmet on, sunglasses, and several bandages all over his face to obscure his face.”

Officers searched the area for the robber following the holdup without success.

Police are requesting anyone who observed the suspect near Rockland Trust or has information that would lead to the arrest of the man to call Fuller at 781-335-1212.
