Photo-Caption:The Redwood-Cottonwood Rivers Control Area (RCRCA) hosted two trips down the Redwood River on Tuesday, June 27 and Thursday, June 29. Forty-eight people, ages 6 to 80, enjoyed the voyage using their own canoes and kayaks, or ones provided by RCRCA. The guests were provided with snacks and beverages before the voyage, and a meal and refreshments upon their arrival to Perk’s Park. Transportation was also provided by RCRCA for the guests to be delivered to the launch site on County Road 6. This educational event had not happened since 2019 due to the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020 and 2021 and the dredging of Lake Redwood in 2022. The canoe trips down the Cottonwood and Redwood Rivers started in 2000 and have been an annual event ever since. For more information or to request to be put onto the mailing list for the 2024 trips, please visit www.rcrca.com or their Facebook page.
