I Corinthians 15: 13-14

More than 2,000 years ago an event took place that changed the world. Through the resurrection of Jesus Christ, a new movement known as The Way grew, and over time those who held on to the belief in the resurrection began to be called Christians.

This coming Sunday (April 21) Christians around the world are going to be celebration Resurrection Sunday, also known as Easter. Among those who will be celebrating are area congregations.

What follows is a list of worship services and other events that are being held this Sunday morning. 

• The Redwood Falls Assembly of God Church is hosting an Easter breakfast at 8:30 a.m. with worship at 10 a.m.

• First United Methodist Church in Redwood Falls is hosting a 7:30 a.m. sunrise service, with Easter breakfast at 8:30 a.m. An Easter celebration service is at 10:30 a.m.

• Gloria Dei Lutheran Church will hold Easter worship services at 6, 8 and 10 a.m. with Easter brunch youth fundraiser from 7-10 a.m.

• Cornerstone Church in Redwood Falls will host a time of fellowship at 9 a.m., with Easter praise and worship at 10 a.m.

• Redwood Alliance Church in Redwood Falls will host a breakfast at 9 a.m., with a special drama presentation during the 10:30 a.m. worship hour.

• St. John Lutheran Church in Redwood Falls will host Easter Sunday services at 7 and 10 a.m., with Easter breakfast in the fellowship hall at 8 a.m.

• First Presbyterian Church in Redwood Falls will host an Easter worship service at 10:15 a.m. The Chancel Choir will sing.

• Christ’s Victory Lutheran Church in Redwood Falls will host a sunrise service at 6:30 a.m. with an Easter celebration service at 10 a.m. An Easter egg hunt and balloon release follow the 10 a.m. service.

• The Evangelical Free Church in Redwood Falls is hosting an Easter breakfast starting at 8 a.m., with worship at 9:30 a.m.

• Living Word Church in Redwood Falls will host an Easter celebration service at 10 a.m.

• St. Catherine’s Catholic Church of Redwood Falls is hosting a 10 a.m. Mass.

• St. John’s Catholic Church in Morton will host an 8 a.m. Mass.

• Grace Lutheran Church in Belview will host a worship service at 9:30 a.m. Those attending are asked to bring a bell.

• Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Belview is hosting an Easter breakfast at 8:30 a.m., with worship to follow at 10 a.m.

• Rock Dell Lutheran Church of rural Belview is hosting a 7 a.m. sunrise Easter service.

• Word of Life Lutheran Church in Belview is hosting a time of fellowship at 10 a.m., with worship to follow at 11 a.m.

• Sundown Lutheran Church near Springfield is hosting a 6:30 a.m. sunrise service followed by a potluck breakfast.

• Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Milroy is hosting a 7 a.m. sunrise service with breakfast to follow.

• St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Wabasso is hosting a 9 a.m. service.

• Trinity Lutheran Church in Lucan is holding a 10 a.m. service.

• Bethany Lutheran Church of rural Morgan (near Gilfillan) will host an Easter service at 9 a.m.

• St. Matthew Lutheran Church of Evan will host a sunrise service at 6:30 a.m.

• Echo Alliance Church is hosting an Easter breakfast at 8:30 a.m., with a resurrection celebration starting at 10 a.m.

• Peace Lutheran Church of Echo will host a worship service at 9:30 a.m.

• St. John Lutheran Church of Vesta will host a 7 a.m. sunrise Easter service with Easter breakfast at 8 a.m.

• St. Luke’s Lutheran Church of Franklin will host an 11 a.m. service.

• St. John’s Lutheran Church of Morgan will host a service starting at 8:15 a.m.

• Morgan United Methodist Church will host a Easter service starting at 9:30 a.m.

• St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Flora Township will host a Easter festival service at 8 a.m.

• Zion Lutheran Church in Morton will host an Easter festival service at 9:15 a.m.

• Bethany Lutheran Church of Wabasso and Trinity Lutheran Church of Willow Lake Township will hold a joint service at Trinity starting at 9 a.m.

• St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Seaforth will host a 7 a.m. Mass

• Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Lucan will host an Easter Mass at 8:45 a.m.

• St. Mathias’ Catholic Church in Wanda will host an 11 a.m. Mass.

The public is invited and encouraged to attend an Easter worship service of their choice.
