The Salvation Army of Redwood County’s bell ringing season starts Nov. 23 and goes through Dec. 22, 2018. These funds provide temporary emergency assistance to those in need.

Additionally, the Salvation Army provides many other services, such as summer camping experiences, disaster services and back to school projects.

With the continued cuts within federal and state programs, the Salvation Army in Redwood County has seen an increase in requests for assistance.

Therefore, those involved with the local program are hoping that this year’s Christmas kettle campaign will be a successful fund drive.

In addition to bell ringers, the Salvation Army has a need for someone to help coordinate the local campaign and collect the kettles. Anyone who may be interested in helping with this short- term project, is encouraged to contact Kim Schwich at (507) 326-5017.

Money raised in Redwood County through the Salvation Army kettle campaign is used year round to provide emergency assistance to county residents. The public is encouraged to reserve a spot to help ring the bells.
