Glenn Bill, 73, of Redwood Falls formerly of Wabasso, passed away Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at Season’s Hospice in Redwood Falls surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with cancer. Mass of Christian Burial was held Saturday, April 21 at St. Catherine’s Catholic Church in Redwood Falls. Interment was in the St. Catherine’s Catholic Cemetery. Glenn Bill was born July 15, 1944 to Milbert and Marcella (Youngman) Bill in Redwood Falls. He was baptized and confirmed at the Evangelical Brethren Church in Wabasso. Glenn attended Wabasso public school and graduated in 1962. He enlisted in Army National Guard and served in the communication field. Glenn worked for Hirsch Electric in Wabasso and Thermo King in Bloomington, where he helped build air conditioners. On October 11, 1969 Glenn married Irene Turbes at Our Lady of Victory Catholic church in Lucan. From this marriage two children were born Corey and Joey. Glenn joined the Redwood Falls Police Department in 1969 and served as a police officer for more than 32 years before retiring in 2001. He also drove bus for Western Community Action for many years. Glenn liked watching the Minnesota Vikings on TV, “only if they were winning.” He enjoyed going for walks and talking to people. Glenn also liked to travel, his favorite destination was Hawaii. He had an outgoing personality and a great sense of humor that would make you smile or laugh. Glenn always said “It’s Glenn with two N’s, won’t answer otherwise.” He loved spending time with the grandkids and attending their sporting events. His family was very important to him. Glenn is survived by his wife of 48 years Irene; children: Corey Bill of Willmar and Joey (Tammy) Bill of Redwood Falls; grandchildren: Jahger, Jahlyn and Kayla; sister Barbara Kammerer of Redwood Falls and many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by parents Milbert and Marcella Bill, grandparents, brother-in-law Kenny Kammerer, and nephew David Turbes.
