CM/Comfrey senior joins elusive club
CM/Comfrey senior forward Paige Richert recently became just the second girl in school history to surpass 1,000 career points with a 24 point, 10 rebound effort in the Cougars 66-58 loss to GFW.
Richert joined former standout Nicole Kerkhoff as the two girls to reach the milestone since the two schools paired back in 2006. Richert is averaging 20.8 ppg and 16.0 rpg (both second overall) in the Tomahawk Conference at the midway point of the season.
The Cougars (12-2, 7-1) had a rare off night in the loss to the T-Birds (7-7, 5-3), as they fell behind 32-26 at the break and couldn’t recover.
CM/Comfrey is now one game behind Sleepy Eye in the conference standings but will face the Indians twice in February.
The Cougars also recently rolled to a 98-46 win over BL/Hector-Stewart.
Boyle had a nice night finishing with 23 points, four steals and four assists, and Richert added 16 points, seven rebounds and four steals.
Taylor Rose added 14 points, Eric Bock had 11 points and four assists and Lexi Toll had 10 points and three rebounds.
