Roberta “Cookie” Klante, 75, of Lucan passed away Tuesday, December 13, 2016 at her residence in Lucan.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 19 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lucan.  Visitation continues one hour prior to the service Monday.  The Sunset Funeral & Cremation Association is caring for the family.
Roberta “Cookie” Klante was born February 9, 1941 to Julius and Gladys (Hannon) Frank in Westbrook. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith, attended school in Revere, Lamberton and graduated from Walnut Grove High School in 1959.
She met and married the love of her life, Vern “Fuzz” Klante and they made their home in Lucan together for 57 years and never went to bed without three kisses and an “I Love You.” Cookie worked many places over the years including B&H Electronics, Bostwicks Clothing Store, a foreman for bean fields, Lucan city treasurer, Lucan city clerk, noon supervisor and substitute cook at the Lucan school, office work at Meadowland and many years of daycare.
She gave her unconditional love and service to Trinity Lutheran Church in Lucan. She was a Sunday School teacher, Bible school teacher and a Good Cheer Lady sender. She also helped with the funeral committee, Circle chairman and church council for more than 40 years.
She enjoyed and loved many things but first and foremost was Jesus. She also loved Elvis, camping and campfires, golfing, snowmobiling, Judge Judy, Theresa the “Long Island Medium,” Louie Anderson, Mocha Frappuccinos, horses, Pepsi, big purses, garage sales, her friends, good neighbors, church family and every one of her daycare kids. As she would say, “The best family God ever gave a person.”
On Tuesday, December 13, 2016, Roberta passed away at her residence in Lucan at the age of 75.
She will be dearly missed by her husband Vern “Fuzz” Klante; children Vicki (Tim) Walsh, Randall (Anne) Klante and Barbara (Ken) Rechtzigel; grandchildren Jonathan (Shannon) Walsh, Ashley (Joel) Weidemann, Courtney Walsh-Hedberg, Jay Rechtzigel, Adam Klante and Morgan Klante; great-grandchildren Ashton, Bradyn, Lauryn, Tyler, Isabella and Tobias and brother Julius Frank.
