CM/Comfrey improves to 9-1 with sweep of BL/Hector-Stewart
The CM/Comfrey Cougar girls volleyball team improved to 9-1 on the season with a 3-0 rout of rival BL/Hector-Stewart Thursday night in Tomahawk Conference action.
The Cougars (9-1, 3-0) rolled 25-13, 25-11, 25-15 to remain unbeaten in conference play.
“This was a huge conference and Section win for us tonight,” Coach Beth Hill said, “Besides excellent scores and all around stats, our girl had so many phenomenal hustle plays. It shows how much passion they play with and how united they are.”
Offensively the Cougars had 37 kills and only seven errors with a hitting percentage of ..395.
MaKenzie Kerkhoff led the way with 13 kills, five digs and two aces.
Paige Richert added seven kills, three digs and four ace blocks.
Erica Bock and Lexi Toll each had five kills and Taylor Rose added three kills, two ace blocks and two digs.
Abby Jemmings led the team with 26 set assists, three kills and seven digs and Lauren Boyle had 19 digs, four ace serves and two set assists.
Kylie Wersal and Jordan Kevelin each finished with 11 digs and Katelyn Green added four digs and two ace serves.
