Sally Joyce (Butzer) Sampson was born July 21, 1936 in Redwood Falls to Walter and Rachel (Westphal) Butzer. She was baptized and confirmed in Zion Lutheran Church in Morton. Sally grew up in Morton and graduated from Morton Public High School. She attended Mankato Teachers College.

On June 17, 1956 Sally was united in marriage to Edward Sampson at Zion Lutheran Church in Morton. Sally and Edward owned Sampson Hardware & Plumbing until their retirement in 2005.

Sally was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Belview Booster Club, Parkview Auxiliary, Belview Parent Teachers Association, Belview Music Mothers, the Traveling Belview Country Show as Mini Pearl and was a long-time member and past president of the Belview Legion Auxiliary. She helped organize the first Red Cross blood drives in Belview and for many years was an election judge.

Sally enjoyed spending time at the lake, playing cards with friends and spending time with family, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a loving, caring person, always willing to lend an ear and helping hand. Sally has been a friend and blessed more people than she ever will know. Sally loved her family and friends.

Sally is survived by her children: Lee (Georgia) Sampson, Ann Bruns (special friend Bruce Rakke) and Jon (Kelly) Sampson; grandsons: Travis (Stephanie) Bruns, Thomas (Lacey) Bruns, and Troy (Kimberly) Bruns, and Ryan (Bobbi Jo) Luckhardt; great-grandchildren: Lydia, Hattie and Grayson, Malaya, Marquis, Malikye and Marion; brothers David (Norita) Butzer and Gary (Dee) Butzer; nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Edward, sister Betty Blatt, and brother James Butzer.
