Jeffrey Arlo Zimmer

Jeffrey Arlo Zimmer, 63, of Granite Falls passed away Saturday, April 23, 2022. He was born February 1, 1959 in Granite Falls to Arlo and Donna (Leupke) Zimmer. He was baptized and confirmed at Peace Lutheran Church in Echo. He attended kindergarten through 12th grade in Echo, graduating in 1977. During high school, he participated in football, basketball, and FFA. He also participated in 4-H and his church youth group and was the last student to walk across the stage at his high graduation ceremony at Echo High School which later became E.C.H.O Charter School.

After graduation, he farmed and did construction work with his dad. He then worked at Plews in Granite Falls until it closed. He then found employment with R and G Road Construction Company from Marshall.

Jeff enjoyed playing softball for Echo City where they won many tournaments. He was an avid Minnesota sports fan. He loved hunting with his friends and family whether it was duck, goose, turkey, pheasant, deer or elk. Jeff also enjoyed gardening.

On April 23, Jeff lost his battle with cancer at Parkview Senior Living in Belview. He is survived by his son, Cody of Granite Falls, and Amber (Justin) Knutson and their children, Jents, Avery and Jasper, of Canby. Brother Terry (Deb) Zimmer of Echo, sisters Kathy (Bob) Purdie-Maas of Mankato, Kristine (Tony) Maiers of Hutchinson. Nieces and nephews: Rachel (Chad) Heinrich, Whitney (Chris) Enestvedt, Alex (fiance’ Tracy), Kristy (Dave) Paulson, Nicholas Purdie, and Chase Maiers. Great-nieces, -nephews and cousins. He is also survived by uncle and aunts, Bill (Delores) Zimmer, Ranae Dahl, and Marlys (Marvin) Timm, relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by parents Arlo and
