Congratulations to our 6th grade students whose writing was featured in Best of Frankenstories 2024. Their story, “The Loving Bear” was selected as the Best of Middle Narratives in the area of World Building. Samples from their story, which they completed last year as 5th graders, will be published on the site’s yearbook and shared with schools as an example of how Frankenstories can be used in the classrooms. Frankenstories is an online writing platform where students work together to piece together a story based on select prompts.

St. Anne Catholic School in Wabasso is nearing the completion of its capital campaign to fund a new school building for preschool through Grade 6 students. With $11,168,628 already committed—91% of their $12,223,594 goal—the school is aiming to collect the remaining $1,054,966 over the coming months. The goal of the Capital Campaign is to replace the current 100-year-old facility and ensure financial stability for future generations of students.
Through a partnership with Wabasso Public School and St. Anne’s, Wabasso Public Library was able to have Minnesota author, Kevin Lovegreen, come to talk to the grade schoolers about writing, how to publish a book, the joy of reading, as well as hunting and fishing. What a great way to kick off I Love to Read Month!
