Rabbit girls fall in Section playoffs

Wabasso wrapped up a successful 2022 campaign with a 2-2 postseason and were eliminated from postseason play with an 8-5 loss to KMS in the loser's bracket of the Section 3A softball tournament. The Rabbits topped Adrian 12-2 in five innings in their playoff opener as Avery Carlson allowed just two hits and was 2-for-3 with a double.

Cardinals hold off Indians

A late run in the final two innings helped Redwood Valley escape with a 2-1 win over visiting Sleepy Eye Thursday, May 19 in a non-conference match-up. It was a pitcher's dual for most of the game as the Indians' Jackson Huiras pitched well as did the Cardinal duo of Carson Woodford and Jahger Bill.

Jaxx pick up first win of the season

Friday, May 20th marked the 4th overall season for the Wabasso Jaxx amateur baseball program. The team went on the road to take on a fellow Cornbelt League opponent, the Sacred Heart Saints and through quality relief pitching and timely hits, Wabasso was able to earn a come-from-behind 11-6 victory in 10 innings.

Local baseball team finishes second

Ten local third and fourth grade boys from Redwood Falls recently finished second at the Elk River Icebreaker Baseball Tournament held Sunday, May 1. The group - which had been practicing a few days per week since the end of February in preparation for the tournament - went 2-1 to finish second overall.
