The Cedar Mountain girls volleyball team looked impressive in route to a 3-0 win over Nicollet in their season debut. The Cougars rolled to a 25-12, 25-10, 25-9 win to open the season with an easy non-conference victory.
The Redwood Valley football team will have a new look when they take to the field tonight to face Luverne in the 2022 season opener at Inglis Field. A year ago the Cardinals had a nice overall campaign, going 7-3 with an impressive early season win over Maple River but ultimately falling twice to rival JCC including a 38-12 loss in the Section semifinals.
Defending champion Eric Anderson added another club title to his resume as he held off the legend Mike Smith 3&2 Sunday at the Redwood Falls Golf Club. The club is celebrating its 100th year of existence, opening way back in 1922.

The Redwood Valley girls tennis team kicked off the 2022 campaign with a home triangular Monday afternoon at the RVHS Tennis Courts. The Cardinals would split the triangular,losing 6-1 to LQPV and topping Montevideo 5-2 on a nice August afternoon.
It took two extra holes but Willmar's Amanda Sellner would edge Atwater's Jenny Quale for the Redwood Falls Ladies' Invitational title Thursday, Aug. 4 at the Redwood Falls Golf Club.

Submitted The Rural MN 11U Baseball Team, consisting of players from around southwest Minnesota and based in Redwood Falls, won the 11U Division Championship of the Sioux Falls Summer Shutdown Baseball Tournament, July 30-31. A number of boys from Redwood Falls and Wabasso played on the team (see photo).
Submitted article/ Staff ReportOn Wednesday, July 27th, the Wabasso Jaxx traveled to Granite Falls to take on the Kilowatts in Cornbelt League playoff action. It was a one-anddone scenario for Wabasso as a win would propel them to the region playoffs, while a loss would abruptly end their season.
