With back-to-back victories over Menomonie the local Redwood Falls 12-Under girls softball team captured the Minnesota Tier-8 State Tournament held July 9-10th in the Twin Cities. The girls opened the event with a come from behind 15-12 victory over Hutchinson Black (after trailing 12-4).
Calmly draining an eight-foot birdie putt on the final hole, past champion Andy Jacobson added to his prestigious Palmer Kise Invitational title list with a one-stroke win over Brady Madsen Sunday evening at the Redwood Falls Golf Club.

It was a successful spring for a pair of local trap shooting teams as the Redwood Valley and Wabasso High School squads both fared well at the annual MNHSCTL Championships. The Redwood Valley novice team of Maxwell Bentson, Lane Breitkreutz, Dalton DeBlieck, Ava Dillon, Max Dillon, Adriel Johnson, Adam Mohr and Hunter Rebstock placed first as a team.
It turned out to be one of the most complete seasons in school history for the Redwood Valley baseball team during the 2022 campaign. The Cardinals went 15-5 during the regular season (most wins ever for a Cardinal team during the regular season) and tied the 1997 squad for total victories with 17 as they finished 17-7 overall and 8-4 in Big South Conference play (good for second).
The Redwood Valley track and field athletes recently competed at the Class A State Meet held at St. Michael-Albertville High School.
It was a fitting end to the season for Redwood Valley junior Julian Brown as she capped off a strong final month of the season with a tie for fourth place at the Class AA State Golf Meet held at the Ridges at Sand Creek.

Redwood Valley recently handed out its annual Athletic Awards with Drew Lundeen and Kate Ahrens being named Senior Athletes of the Year. Lundeen - a standout in football, basketball and tennis - was the boys winner in a field that easily could've had three or four other winners.
