Cardinals take momentum into postseason
Scoring 28 second quarter points the Redwood Valley Cardinals rolled to a 40-21 win over host LCWM in an MEA night special held Wednesday, Oct. 19 in Lake Crystal.

Rabbits edge Cards in five set thriller
Despite dropping the first set the Wabasso Rabbits rallied to top host Redwood Valley 3-2 in an entertaining non-conference match-up held Thursday afternoon at the RVHS gymnasium. The two teams played in front of a packed house of kids as the Cardinal middle and high school students were on hand (along with a nice number of Rabbit students) to watch the festivities as part of the rare afternoon affair.
Cougar netters drop battle with rival Greyhounds
The Cedar Mountain Cougars dropped a Tomahawk Conference battle with rival New Ulm Cathedral 3-0 in recent area girls volleyball action. Despite the loss the Cougars still sport a 19-8 overall record and a 6-2 mark in conference play as they near the end of the regular season.

DNR Fish and Wildlife Almanac
The Minnesota pheasant hunting season is now open. Hunters should check regulations before they head out into the field. Pheasant hunters ages 16-64 must purchase a small game license and pheasant stamp. Also, all pheasant hunters must wear at least one visible article of clothing above the waist that is blaze orange or pink. Bag and possession limits, pheasant transportation requirements, a hunting prospects map and more information are available on the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources pheasant hunting page.

Cards roll past Wolverines for second straight victory
Outscoring Sibley East 23-0 in the second half the Redwood Valley Cardinals made it two straight wins with a 30-6 win over the Wolverines Friday night in Arlington. The Cardinals (2-5) had won back-to-back games heading into Wednesday night's regular season finale against LCWM.

Cards dominate Eagles for first victory
Rushing for 315 yards the Redwood Valley Cardinals rolled to a 28-8 Homecoming victory over visiting Windom Area Friday night at Inglis Field. It was a dominating effort for the Cards (1-5) who kept the Eagles at bay all night and dominated on the ground en route to their first victory.
Rabbit netters top Tigers in three sets
The Wabasso girls volleyball team improved to 15-7 overall and 6-2 in Tomahawk Conference play with a 3-0 win over Springfield in recent action. The Rabbits won 25-11, 26-24, 25-15 and will next face a tough non-conference match-up with Redwood Valley tonight in Redwood Falls.
Jaguars roll past Cougars
Outscoring Cedar Mountain 21-0 in the second half the RCW Jaguars topped the Cougars 43-18 Friday night in a nine-man battle held in Morgan. In a battle of Section 2 9-Man rivals it was the Jaguars that would pull away in the second half for the win to improve to a perfect 6-0 on the season.

Redwood Rebels put together memorable summer
It was a memorable summer for the Redwood Rebels 12-and-under Softball Team who capped off a great season by playing in the MONSTA Championship held Aug 4-7 in Mounds View. The Rebels qualified for the tournament by winning the Tier 8 State Tournament on July 9-10. The MONSTA Championship was a tournament consisting of 49 teams who qualified during the season. The layout of the tournament consisted of both pool play and bracket play during the four day tournament.
