Redwood Falls native Sophie Kodet has taken a lifelong passion for horses to the next level as she continues to grow her name on the regional rodeo circuit.
Angela Allen, daughter of John and Diane Woodford, of Redwood Falls was recently promoted to Colonel in the U.S. Army Reserve. She is a 1995 graduate of Redwood Valley High School and a 1999 graduate of Augustana College, Sioux Falls. Angela enlisted in the Army Reserve in 1996. Just thinking she would complete her six-year commitment, get a little financial aid for college, and fulfill a sense of service to her country, she never imagined this part-time commitment would lead to a 29+ year career.

The Redwood County Fair “Bake it with Sugar” Contest, sponsored by the Southern Minnesota Beet Sugar Cooperative, was held on Saturday, July 19. The featured dessert ingredient this year was rhubarb.
Department of Minnesota Veterans of Foreign Wars selected Redwood County VFW Post #2553 as one of the top 20 VFW posts in Minnesota. VFW Post #2553 was selected as an All-State Post for 2025 at the summer Minnesota VFW conference. There are over 180 VFW Posts in Minnesota.
The Minnesota Department of Transportation is upgrading roadway striping to wet reflective markings on several highways in Kandiyohi, Lac qui Parle, McLeod, Meeker, Renville, and Redwood counties. Striping operations will take place throughout the rest of this year’s construction program and then pause for the winter before resuming next summer.
The regular Redwood Falls City Council meeting was called to order on July 15 where Officer Lucas Hodges took the oath of office and officially joined the Redwood Falls Police Department.
