VFW Post #2553 named top 15 VFW Posts at National Convention
Redwood County Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #2553 was named one of the top 15 VFW Posts at the 126th VFW National Convention. VFW Post #2553 placed 8th out of the 632 posts in their membership division.
Highway 71/19 shoulder repairs begin Aug. 11: pilot car in operation
Beginning Aug. 11, crews will repair shoulders along both sides of Highway 71/19 from 340th Street east of Redwood Falls to the Highway 71/19 split in Morton, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.

Central Bi-Products to Host Seventh Annual Food Drive
Central Bi-Products will be hosting the seventh annual food drive on Wednesday, Aug. 13, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at The Market (formerly Tersteeg’s) grocery store. All food and monetary contributions will be donated to the Redwood Falls Area Food Shelf. Farmers Union Industries, Central Bi-Products’ parent company, will donate one dollar to every pound raised for the food shelf, in addition to matching each monetary donation up to $500.
Schedule to donate blood at Redwood Falls Blood Drive on Aug. 18–19
The Redwood Falls Blood Drive will be held Monday, Aug. 18 and Tuesday, Aug. 19 from 12–6 p.m at the Redwood Area Community Center.
Nominate a veteran to join VFW Wall of Honor
This year the Veteran of Foreign Wars entered its 125th year of service to America’s veterans. Redwood County VFW Post #2553 is honoring the impacts and the achievements that will continue to positively impact the lives of all future generations of veterans, forever. Redwood County VFW Commander Jerry Ludwig has selected the VFW Wall of Honor as this year’s local Commander’s Project.
