The Redwood County Board of Commissioners approved a number of 2022 organizational matters at their Tuesday, Jan. 4, meeting, including electing officers. Jim Salfer was elected as chairman for 2022 and Dennis Groebner was elected as vice-chair.
Due to the current surge of CO- VID-19 cases, and the need to strengthen protection against the highly contagious Omicron variant, CentraCare will be implementing two requirements at all facilities. Locally, this includes all Carris Health – Redwood buildings and services.
Wabasso wrestling legend Gary Hindt gets inducted into the Wabasso Hall of Fame on Saturday, Jan. 8, as part of the Rabbits home triangular with St. James Area and Madelia-Truman-Martin Luther. Hindt retired in 2017 as the only wrestling coach in the long and storied history of Wabasso wrestling after season 49. His overall record of 807-214-6 is second overall in state history and he was inducted into the Minnesota Wrestling Coaches Hall of Fame in 1994. Hindt took four teams to state, finishing second in 2004 and also coached six individual state champions. PROVIDED

Home delivery is available to those residing in Wabasso, Wanda, Lucan, Seaforth, Vesta, Delhi, Lamberton, Redwood Falls, Clements, Morton, Fairfax, Franklin, Gibbon, and Winthrop.

The Redwood County Board wrapped up 2021 with their regular meeting Tuesday, Dec. 28.
At their final meeting of 2021 on Monday, Dec. 20, the Redwood Area School Board held the required annual Truth in Taxation hearing and adopted the tax levy. Finance Director Tom Anderson made the Truth in Taxation presentation with information related to the proposed 2021 payable 2022 property tax and the current year budget.
