On Monday, Jan. 31, the Minnesota Legislature reconvened in St. Paul to begin the 2022 session. The state’s projected $7.7 billion surplus will be one of the most discussed items in St. Paul. Following record inflation, Sen. Gary Dahms and Senate Republicans are pitching a series of tax cuts targeted to working Minnesotans, families, and seniors to help them afford their everyday life. Republicans passed several tax cuts in the last five years including the first income rate tax cuts in 20 years.

The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources will host a candlelight hike Saturday, Feb. 12, at Fort Ridgely State Park. Drop by from 5 to 8 p.m. for snowshoeing or hiking as stars twinkle overhead and candles flicker in the snow.
