Rise Nutrition in Redwood Falls held a Shakin’ for Savanah & Payton fundraiser Monday, Feb. 21, for 16- year-old twin siblings, Payton and Savanah Ball, who were injured in a car accident Jan. 22. Rise Nutrition provided a special menu with all the proceeds going directly to the Ball family.
Redwood Valley High School is pleased to announce our 2021-22 ExCEL Award winner Jack Frank. The ExCEL award — Excellence in Community, Education and Leadership — is a unique recognition program designed exclusively for Minnesota high school juniors who are active in school activities, who show leadership qualities, and who work voluntarily in their community.
At the Feb. 14 Wabasso City Council meeting, EDA Board President Pat Eichten reported to the council that duplex plans and contract packet have been finalized. He said it looks like the EDA will need to limit occupancy to moderate income. Also, the EDA has sold a lot to Matt and Andrea Samyn.
Wayne Junker has added author to his already impressive resume. In collaboration with his daughter, Whitney Jansen, the two published a children’s book titled, “Oh, Paul Bunyan.” Written by Junker and illustrated by Jansen, the Redwood Falls Public Library celebrated their accomplishment by putting together an open house event in October 2021.
In January 2007, Daktronics made a significant investment in the City of Redwood Falls when it expanded its operations in the community. Over the past 15 years the company and the city have truly benefitted from each other.
During the Feb. 15 Redwood County Board of Commissioners meeting, the board accepted a $1,000 anonymous donation to the Redwood County Sheriff’s department. The money will be used toward equipment. Sheriff Randy Hanson presented the request for new ballistic vest and helmet replacements for deputies on the ERU team. The board approved the amount of $10,461.72 for these replacements.
