Volunteer precipitation observers needed

How heavy was the rain overnight? How much snow fell during the winter storm? How bad is the drought this year? The National Weather Service is looking for additional volunteers to record and share measurements of precipitation in and around Redwood County. The addition of even a few observers across the area will lead to a more accurate picture of the weather’s impact. Your reports will truly make a difference!

Grants awarded to Southwest Minnesota Private Industry Council Inc.

The Southwest Minnesota Private Industry Council Inc. (PIC) has been awarded $41,097 by the Otto Bremer Trust and $25,000 from the Southwest Initiative Foundation to provide a sequential, purposeful continuum of Career Exposure, Career Exploration and Career Experience activities for students in southwest Minnesota. The Southwest Minnesota Private Industry Council (PIC) is a private, nonprofit organization that offers customized training and employment services for individuals and businesses in a 14-county area of Southwest Minnesota.
