Man versus Golf

You know how sometimes you go to visit your parents but you don’t want to stay with them because, you know, they’re your parents? So you decide to stay nearby, but not that nearby because, well, they’re your parents? But it’s also spring break for the kiddos so you dish out a little more scratch than usual and stay not just at a hotel but a resort with a full-on water park, with lots of pools and water slides galore? And you know how the first few days are good, clean family fun, swimming during the days, seeing the folks in the evening, but then you learn that the resort offers something else and that something else is… golf? And you know how halfway through your stay, the PGA walks in like they own the joint? I hate it when that happens.

Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat goes on stage this weekend

Song and dance come to the local stage this weekend when the Springfield Community Theatre and Springfield Community Education present Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. Based on the biblical story of Joseph and his brothers in the Book of Genesis, the musical goes on stage at Springfield Public School this Saturday, April 2 at 2:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. and Sunday, April 3 at 2:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.

Minnesota beef producer shares story to celebrate National Ag Day

Getting involved in agriculture is more important than ever. With more than 98% of Americans having little to no direct connection to farming or ranching, now, more than ever, there’s a need and opportunity for the agriculture community to tell its story. In honor of National Ag Day, the Minnesota Beef Council is sharing one story of a Minnesota beef producer who understands the importance of inspiring the next generation to get involved.

March 8th grade Cardinals of the Month

Why was LiliAnna nominated for Cardinal of the Month? LiliAnna has been nominated for Cardinal of the Month for the hard work she has demonstrated all year long. She is a student who is kind and respectful to everyone around her. Lili has several attributes that will help her be very successful in her high school career and beyond. We have enjoyed having Lili in the middle school and her involvement in her extracurricular activities as well.

Area students, Haley Hacker of Morgan, and Kaleb Serbus of Redwood Falls, have earned Dean's List honors from Bemidji State University in Bemidji, Minnesota, at the conclusion of the Fall 2021 semester for earning a GPA of 3.5 or higher during the semester.
