Wabasso senior dining menu through May 6

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Wabasso Senior Dining is only offering home delivery of meals, until further notice. Home delivery is available to those residing in Wabasso, Wanda, Lucan, Seaforth, Vesta, Delhi, Lamberton, Redwood Falls, Clements, Morton, Fairfax, Franklin, Gibbon, and Winthrop. To order a meal, or for more information, call Diane at 507-829-2385. You are asked to call one day prior by noon to order a meal. The cost is $4 a meal for those ages 60 and over; $2 on Thursdays for Wabasso residents. In response to social distancing measures, there are no senior dining activities in Wabasso at this time.

Fish and Wildlife Almanac

Minnesota moms fish free May 7-8 During Take a Mom Fishing Weekend Saturday, May 7, to Sunday, May 8, moms who live in Minnesota can fish without purchasing a license. The Minnesota State Legislature established this special weekend in 1988 to coincide with Mother’s Day.

Congratulations to RVHS FFA members going to State!

Redwood Valley FFA will be sending 46 FFA members to the Minnesota State FFA Convention, April 24-26. These members will be competing in 10 different CDEs and seven different proficiency areas, earning three state degrees, and representing the Redwood Valley FFA Chapter as Chapter Delegates during convention sessions. Wabasso City Council

At the April 11 meeting of the Wabasso City Council EDA President Pat Eichten updated the council on the plan to build a duplex. With estimated costs coming in higher than expected, the EDA decided to look into working with a developer or other organization on the project. The EDA also plans to install electricity in the Eastvail 3rd and 4th additions. The EDA has agreed to work with the city on the $200,000 broad band commitment and investigating if RLF funds can he used for this.

Dual County 4-H Dairy Project Bowl Team competed at 4-H Regional Project Bowl

On March 19, Pipestone and Redwood County 4-H’ers participated in the Regional 4-H Project Bowl earning first place in their senior division. The 4-H Regional Project Bowl challenges teams of three to six youth to test their knowledge on a variety of animal science and agriculture topics including dairy, dog, general livestock, horse, lama, poultry, and rabbit.
