Finalists chosen for Farmfest Woman Farmer of the Year award

The top 5 finalists for the Farmfest Woman Farmer of the Year Award have been selected. IDEAg Group, LLC., producers of Minnesota Farmfest, will bestow the third annual Farmfest Woman Farmer of the Year Award during the 2022 event. Award judges selected the top five women, from all the applications received, whose nominations demonstrated a high level of commitment to the farm or ranch in terms of hours dedicated, positive impact on income, yield, diversification or challenges, community involvement and passion for her farm and the ag industry.

Class of 2022 become RVHS graduates

The Redwood Valley High School class of 2022 commencement ceremony was held Sunday, June 5, where the 67 graduates and one international student were awarded their diplomas. The afternoon began with a welcome and recognition from class president Ella Fuhr, followed by a moment of silence from class vice president Jahlyn Bill and senior class speaker Katherine Ahrens.

Bond referendum gets August election

The Redwood Area Board of Education unanimously passed the final resolution to move forward with the August 9 election for the bond referendum on Monday, May 23. Superintendent Becky Cselvszki put together two community meetings to provide clarity around the building of a new elementary school and a secure entrance for the middle and high school.

Wabasso senior dining through June 16

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Wabasso Senior Dining is only offering home delivery of meals, until further notice. Home delivery is available to those residing in Wabasso, Wanda, Lucan, Seaforth, Vesta, Delhi, Lamberton, Redwood Falls, Clements, Morton, Fairfax, Franklin, Gibbon, and Winthrop. To order a meal, or for more information, call Diane at 507-829-2385. You are asked to call one day prior by noon to order a meal. The cost is $4 a meal for those ages 60 and over; $2 on Thursdays for Wabasso residents. Menus are subject to change.
