Redwood County Board of Commissioners met Monday, May 6 and recognized County Administrator Vicki Kletscher, for 20 years of service, and Assistant County Attorney Amy Busse for five years of service with Redwood County.
Redwood County VFW Post #2553 completed a successful 2025 “Day of Service” clothing drive. Over 1,500 pounds of clean, usable clothing, linens and towels were collected. The items were delivered to the Disabled American Veterans, Chapter 15 in New Ulm. The items will be sorted and loaded for delivery to distribution sites.
IDEAg Group LLC., producers of Minnesota Farmfest, seeks nominations for the sixth-annual Farmfest Woman Farmer of the Year Award. The nomination period ends May 22, 2025, and the award will be presented at Farmfest.
Dakota Wicohan is honored to be named one of just fifteen recipients of the inaugural Minnesota Community IDEAS Grant by the Saint Paul and Minnesota Foundation. This $160,000 unrestricted award is a recognition of Dakota Wicohan’s ongoing efforts to revitalize Dakota as a living language, and through it, transmit Dakota lifeways to future generations.

During the Minnesota Senate’s floor session on Monday, April 28, Pastor Regina Garrett of the First United Methodist Church in Redwood Falls provided the Prayer of the Day as the guest chaplain.
For Downtown Clean-Up Days that took place April 24–26 as part of Earth Day efforts, Sweetman Sanitation donated five 30-yard roll-off dumpsters, which were made available to businesses at no cost.
Redwood County VFW Member David Tribble, along with Post Commander Jerry Ludwig, recently attended the MidwayUSA Foundations Day of Clays Minnesota event to raise money for local youth shooting sports teams. The event was a day of sporting clays and shotgun games at Rice Creek in Little Falls, Minnesota. The Day of Clays sporting clays tournament made a $200 donation per shooter up to $800 donation per squad. Additional donations were made by the Minnesota Sporting Clays Ass’n and Midway USA Foundation Marketing and Events Office.
The Redwood Area Chamber Ag Committee is pleased to announce the scholarship recipients for the 2024-25 school year. One of the goals of the Redwood Area Chamber Ag Committee’s Scholarship Program is to promote and strengthen area agriculture by supporting college-bound students from rural communities as they pursue their academic goals. With this support, we hope to develop future leaders for agriculture companies and our rural communities.
