Brenda K. Filzen of Hope Mills, N.C. passed away January 16, 2023, at home surrounded by her family after a short battle with cancer.
 Brenda was born April 17, 1957, in Redwood Falls to Myron and Florence (Reynolds) Borth. Brenda lived on the family farm and attended and graduated from Belview High School in 1975. She was united in marriage to Dave Filzen on July 3, 1976. They made their home near Bechyn where they raised their their children Michele, April, and Steven. They moved to Wilson, N.C. in 1989 and then to Hope Mills where Dave worked for the Schwans Company while Brenda worked in the health care field.
 Brenda worked on various crafts, enjoyed playing pool, spoiling her grandchildren, and especially enjoyed their annual family gathering at Holden Beach, N.C. A wife, a mother, a grandma, too, is the legacy we have from you. She also looked up to and idolized her older brother.
 Brenda is survived by her husband Dave, children Michele Burns (Troy), April Eagles(Jay), and Steven Filzen(Misty); brother Merlyn Borth (Lorena); grandchildren Kaiden, Haley, and Bayleigh; mother-in-law Rita Walter; brothers-in-law Dan, Greg, Robert; sisters-in-law Patti, Nancy, and Joyce; and a host of other family and friends.
 She was preceded in death by her parents, father-in-law Don Filzen, brother-in-law Jeff, and sister-in-law Monica.
