Cardinal boys suffer first loss

In a game that went right down to the wire it was the host Luverne Cardinals who held off Redwood Valley 77-75 in an early season Big South Conference Small Division match-up. It was the first loss of the season for Redwood Valley (4-1) who again played well but had five more turnovers (19-14) and 21 less free throw attempts (23-2) than Luverne.

Rob’s Advent Calendar©

Every year around this time, some well-meaning aunt sends my children an advent calendar. Not one of the cool, new, weird advent calendars. This well-meaning aunt gets my kids an advent calendar with chocolate. So, come December, every morning, like clockwork, my kids start their day right out of the gate with, sigh, chocolate.

Rabbit boys top Indians

A balanced effort by the Wabasso Rabbits boys basketball team helped them roll to a 79-58 win over Sleepy Eye in a recent Tomahawk Conference match-up. The Rabbits (2-2) got a big outing from Karson Bock who knocked down six three’s (five in the first half) on the way to a game-high 26 points.
