VFW donates new rifles to 4-H Shooting Sports and Wildlife Club

Redwood County VFW Post #2553 donated new rifles to the Redwood/Renville 4-H Shooting Sports and Wildlife Club. The donation was made as part of the VFW's Youth Safety programs. 4-H Shooting Sports emphasizes safety and education for youth interested in outdoor pursuits. The donations are Crosman 2021 Sporter rifles. The rifles are considered top of the line in Sporter Class. The 4-H Shooting Sport club begins their new year with practice at the Redwood Falls Armory on Saturday, Jan. 14, 9 a.m. Youth and families interested in 4-H Shooting Sports/ Wildlife programs should contact the Redwood County 4-H Office at 637-4025.

MnDOT reminds public it is illegal to push snow onto roads

MnDOT reminds the public that it is illegal to deposit snow on or next to a state highway or street. Placing snow on or near a public road, including the right of way, creates hazards, including drainage problems, drifting, visibility issues and unsafe access.

Rabbit grapplers dominate Tigers

The Wabasso wrestling team rolled to a 60-20 win over Springfield in a recent dual meet held in Springfield. The Rabbits picked up forfeit wins from Landryk Tietz (106), Zach Skoblik (120), William Flowers (138) and Katelynn Crotinger (Hwt) and falls from Kaysen Harms (113), Ashton Wiedemann (126), Gavin Marotzke (145), Adryen Tietz (152), Mason Kampsen (160) and Chase Irlbeck (182).

Cardinal wrestlers edged out in pair of duals

In a pair of duals that went right down to the wire the Redwood Valley Cardinal wrestlers narrowly defeated by rivals Pipestone Area and Windom/ML Tuesday night in triangular action. In a match-up with Pipestone Area the dual went back and forth with four different lead changes before the Arrows would ultimately hold on for a 42-39 victory.

Cardinal girls nab first victory

It was a big night for the Redwood Valley girls basketball team as they held off GFW 59-56 in a non-conference girls basketball team held in Redwood Falls. It was the first win of the season for the Cards (1-4) who will look to build on the victory heading into the New Year.
