The Minnesota Department of Transportation is seeking public comments on proposed changes to the rules that govern Special Transportation Services providers. STS providers provide transportation services primarily for the elderly or people with disabilities, as well as non-emergency medical transportation services paid for with public funding.

Jeff Strock, a professor at the U of M’s Southwest Research and Outreach Center, provides expert comment on how heavy snowfall is expected to impact soil and drought in 2023.

The Land Stewardship Project (LSP), in partnership with the Lac Qui Parle Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD), is offering an online workshop on Tuesday, Jan. 24, to help you act on your conservation values on rented land. This event, which runs from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m., is for farmland owners, retired farmers, farmland inheritors, and conservation farmers who would like ideas on how to invest in soil building on rented land. The workshop will use the Zoom platform and is free and open to the public with online registration.
