The Land Stewardship Project (LSP), in partnership with the Lac Qui Parle Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD), is offering an online workshop on Tuesday, Jan. 24, to help you act on your conservation values on rented land. This event, which runs from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m., is for farmland owners, retired farmers, farmland inheritors, and conservation farmers who would like ideas on how to invest in soil building on rented land. Dakota Pendleton-Sam flirted with a triple-double as the Cedar Mountain Cougars rolled to a 72-54 win over Sleepy Eye Friday night in Tomahawk Conference boys basketball action. The Cougars (4-2) took a 10-point lead into the half and put it in cruise control from there en route to the victory.
A pair of competitive battles with Springfield and JCC ended in losses in recent Redwood Valley girls basketball action. In a match-up with Big South rival JCC Friday at home the Cards (2-6) hung tough with the Huskies (5-3) but would ultimately fall 50-45.
The Redwood Valley wrestling team went 0-3 in recent quadrangular team action held Thursday night at the RVHS gymnasium. The Cards closest battle was with Fulda-MCC which saw them lose 40-30.
The Redwood Valley boys hockey team continues to search for its first win following recent losses to Prairie Center, Windom Area and Fairmont. The Cards (0-10, 0-7) fell 8-3 to Prairie Center, scoring single goals in each of the three periods.
Visiting Luverne edged Redwood Valley 126.55-125 in a Big South Conference dual held Thursday at the RACC. Luverne had two of the top three All-Arounders including Ella Reisdorfer who would take first with her score of 34.325.
