Letter to editor: The Jan. 19, “What to know when a CO2 Pipeline comes to your community” article says, “Minnesotans should know and be able to decide if there are more effective ways to spend public money to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.” But I ask; why even spend ‘ANY’ money ‘to reduce greenhouse gas emissions’? I’ve been writing editorials in opposition to “‘Man-made’ global warming” for over 15 years.

Cardinal grapplers top Rabbits

A pair of key wins by Austin and Lincoln Ourada proved to be the difference as Redwood Valley topped rival Wabasso 40-35 in recent triangular meet wrestling action. Austin Ourada topped Mikale Goblirsch 10-6 at 126 and Lincoln Ourada held off William Flowers 7-3 at 138 to account for six huge points.

The Cedar Mountain Cougars topped New Ulm Cathedral 53-52 in a Tomahawk Conference boys basketball thriller held Friday night in Morgan. The Cougars (9-10, 6-6) put a half to a five-game losing streak with a recent three game winning streak that included a nice conference win over the rival Greyhounds.

Cardinal boys search for first victory

It’s been a tough season for the Redwood Valley boys hockey team as they fell to Willmar and Windom Area by identical 7-0 scores in recent Big South Conference action. The Cardinals (020, 0-16) wrapped up the regular season Tuesday night in Prairie Center and will then prepare for the start of Section 3A play.

Woodford leads Jimmies to top ten national ranking

Former Redwood Valley standout Cole Woodford has helped lead the Jamestown Jimmie’s Men’s Basketball team to a ninth place ranking in the latest NAIA poll. The Jimmies are 23-4 overall and 15-4 in conference play, recently clinching at least a share of the GPAC title with a win over Briar Cliff University.
