PHYLLIS I. PIEPENBURG

Phyllis I. Piepenburg, 93, of Litchfield died on Sunday, February 26, 2023, at CentraCare Hospital in St. Cloud. A public visitation will be held from 10 a.m. 12 p.m. on Saturday, March 4 at Beckville Lutheran Church, to be followed by her funeral service at 12 p.m. Inurnment will be in Beckville Lutheran Church Cemetery at a later date. Phyllis is survived by her children, Julie (Robert) Plaetz of Lucan, Jeffrey Piepenburg of Grove City, Jay Piepenburg (Mary) of Cokato, Joel (Julie) Piepenburg of Brooten, Jayne Piepenburg of Litchfield, Vicki (Mark) Fastner of Woodbury, and Tracey (Mardi) Piepenburg of Alexandria; 12 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren; sisters Fern Peterson of Junction City, Kan. and Faye Kjolsing of Litchfield, brother David Warren of Colorado Springs, Colo., sisters-in-law Adeline Piepenburg of Litchfield, Jody Warren of Hingham, Mont. Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents; 12 siblings, daughter Joyce Piepenburg; and great-granddaughter Adeline Raisanen. Arrangements are with Johnson Hagglund Funeral Home in Litchfield. Senator Dahms responds to budget forecast and $17.5 billion surplus

Minnesota’s Department of Management and Budget (MMB) released its February revenue forecast, providing information and an outlook for Minnesota’s financial picture. The report shows the surplus holding steady at $17.5 billion with inflation accounting for $1.4 billion going back into state spending automatically.

While we have always relied on our Indigenous knowledge in understanding and living in balance with the natural forces, basic science also indicates that greenhouse gasses from the extraction industry (oil and gas) cause shifts in weather patterns.

Wisdom and Wine at Willmar Public Library

Join us for an evening of great conversation, interesting author talks, and delicious desserts and more as the Friends of the Willmar Public Library present the 3rd annual Wisdom and Wine fundraising event on June 8 at the Willmar Conference Center. Doors open at 6 p.m. with dessert served at 6:30 p.m. A great silent auction and fun raffle will also be part of the activities from 6 - 6:45 p.m. The highlight of this exciting evening is an opportunity to hear authors Marcie Rendon, Matt Goldman, and Steve Rushin starting at 7 p.m. Books will be available for purchase and authors will be signing. Proceeds will go to the Willmar Public Library to help support collection development and library programs.
