Redwood Falls City Council met Tuesday, March 7 and approved the Redwood Area Community Center Board’s request for the 2023 joint cityschool projects, the request to disperse 2023 joint city-school funds in the amount of $10,000, and authorized to declare surplus on two recumbent bikes. These joint cityschool projects include replacing equipment, purchasing new equipment, and covering yearly inspections.

With last week’s announcement of the higher than normal risk of spring flooding, the Insurance Federation of Minnesota reminds property owners that Spring Flood season is fast approaching. According to the data, even if Minnesota just gets an average amount of snowfall in March and April, it will mean the state will have one of the ten snowiest on record.

Letter to the Editor: When my husband was offered a banking position in Redwood Falls and the bank president gave us a tour of the community, one item stood out above everything else in our minds – the small town of Redwood Falls cared about its children. The middle school/high school/community center were absolutely amazing, the public library and its programs impressive, a new aquatic center was on the docket, walking trails spread throughout our beautiful park, ball fields and sand volleyball courts were filled with young people… we were thrilled to move here with our three children at the time – 8th, 5th and 2nd graders.

Redwood Valley Area 4th and 5th grade boys’ basketball teams to play in Pacesetter Region 3 Tournament for grades 4-9 in Redwood Falls March 25-26

The Redwood Valley Area 4th and 5th grade boys’ basketball teams will play Saturday, March 25 and Sunday, March 26, in the Region 3 championship for grades 4-9 at Redwood Area Community Center in Redwood Falls as the first stage of the 31st Annual Pacesetter Minnesota Youth Basketball State Championships. Teams playing Saturday include 4B, 6B, 8B, 5G, 7G, and 9G.
