Redwood Valley High School Class of 2023 graduation ceremony is Sunday, June 4 at 1 p.m. in the Redwood Valley Gymnasium.
Redwood County Board of Commissioners met Tuesday, May 16 and approved the Redwood County and Minnesota Valley Regional Rail Authority Agreement to remove trees obstructing sight corners on CSAH 25, one half mile west of CSAH 101/CSAH 25 intersection by Central Bi-Products.
William Oscar Hillger adored his loving wife, Roxie and her family, his daughters, Cindy and Lynn, his grandsons and his vivid experiences dating back to his childhood in Redwood Falls. Nothing gave Bill more pleasure than telling stories about lazy afternoons at the cabin in Cotton, hunting pheasant at the family farm in Morgan, owning cars (27 he counted) racing cars and repairing them side by side with his beloved father at the Chrysler garage his family owned in Redwood. Bill passed away peacefully on January 10. He was 89 years old. We will celebrate Bill’s life on Monday, June 5 at 11 a.m. at Richfield United Methodist Church. All are welcome.
The Redwood Falls Rotary Club spearheaded a project to make Beds for Kids. The beds were built through Redwood Valley High School Continuing Education program, which enabled the builders to utilize the wood shop at Redwood Valley High School. The beds were built by Rotarians Dave Steinkraus, Mike Kaufenberg, Michael Joldersma, and Robin Stegner. Non-Rotarians Chico Jensen and Cole Huhnerkoch participated through Community Ed. Funding was provided by three Thrivent Action Grants from Stacy and Joel Johnson and Robin Stegner, a generous donation from the Missions Committee of the First Presbyterian Church, and the Redwood Falls Rotary Club.
Redwood Falls City Council met Tuesday, May 16 and approved the proposal from RMS Equipment to replace the existing 1996 steel drum roller for $43,125. The 2023 Central Garage Operating Budget includes $60,000 to make this replacement.

The Redwood Area Dollars for Scholars held the 21st annual “Evening of the Stars – The Scholarships” ceremony on Wednesday, May 10. The Dollars for Scholars chapter was established in 2001 by a group of parents, counselors, and others who wanted to find a way to help Redwood Valley seniors with their college expenses.
The Redwood Valley girls golf team made it back-to-back conference titles as they cruised to a 13-stroke victory at the Big South Championship held Monday at Dacotah Ridge Golf Club. The Cardinals fired a solid 339 team total to top second place Blue Earth Area (352) by 13 strokes and third place Fairmont (361) by 22 in the 10-team event.
