Memorial Services will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 22, 2022, in Chisholm Assembly of God with Rev. Micah Reed officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church followed by a Military Tribute by the Chisholm American Legion before services in the church. Military Rites will be accorded by the Mid-Range Honor Guard after services outside of church. Inurnment will be in Chisholm Cemetery at a later date. Arrangements are entrusted to Rupp Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Chisholm.

Darlene A. Kissner

Darlene A. Kissner, 81, of Redwood Falls passed away Wednesday, July 13, 2022, at her home. A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 21, 2022, at First United Methodist Church in Redwood Falls. Visitation was held from 4 until 8 p.m. on Wednesday, July 20, 2022, at Nelson-Hillestad Funeral Home in Redwood Falls. Visitation will continue from 10 until 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 21, 2022, at First United Methodist Church. Burial will follow the service at Fort Ridgely Cemetery in Fairfax.

Roger Carroll Breckenridge

Roger Carroll Breckenridge was born May 28, 1940, on the Martin Frieze farm in Three Lakes Township, Redwood County. He was the son of Sidney and Florence (Muetzel) Breckenridge. Shortly after his birth, his parents moved the family to 124 West Flynn Street in Redwood Falls where he spent his childhood, boyhood and teenage years. He attended Lincoln grade school and RFHS, graduating with the Class of 1958. He was a Boy Scout and wrestled for the RFHS under coach Virgil Sales. He attended Methodist Episcopal Church where he was confirmed. While still in high school he worked at The Redwood Gazette. He spent three years in the U. S. Army and was stationed in Hawaii and Japan. While in Japan he and Yoko were married in 1962 at the American Embassy in Tokyo. Roger graduated from Mankato State with a BS in Mathematics and a minor in Physics. He taught mathematics at Round Lake and Winthrop and then in 1978 the family moved to the Twin Cities where he worked as a computer programmer for UNISYS. For a retirement job, he was a shuttle driver at Belzer’s car dealership in Lakeville. For hobbies Roger worked on family genealogy, history of Redwood Falls, local Civil War Soldiers, the History of the Dakota Conflict and published weekly a RFHS Alumni newsletter entitled The Red Dog Gulch Gazette. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, John. Survivors include his wife, Yoko, son, Richard (Amanda) Breckenridge and granddaughter, Emma of Plano, Texas, his brother Gordon (Kaye) of Alpena, Mich., sister-in-law Barbara of Marshall, and several nieces and nephews.

To the editor: I commend the WRAP organization for offering support services for all victims of domestic violence or sex trafficking. They are needed in this age when the cultural environment is suffering from a massive breakdown of the family.
