The Cedar Mountain girls volleyball team looked impressive in route to a 3-0 win over Nicollet in their season debut. The Cougars rolled to a 25-12, 25-10, 25-9 win to open the season with an easy non-conference victory.
The Redwood Valley football team will have a new look when they take to the field tonight to face Luverne in the 2022 season opener at Inglis Field. A year ago the Cardinals had a nice overall campaign, going 7-3 with an impressive early season win over Maple River but ultimately falling twice to rival JCC including a 38-12 loss in the Section semifinals.
Defending champion Eric Anderson added another club title to his resume as he held off the legend Mike Smith 3&2 Sunday at the Redwood Falls Golf Club. The club is celebrating its 100th year of existence, opening way back in 1922.
The Redwood Valley girls volleyball team will enter the 2022 campaign with renewed optimism after a learning year in 2021. With almost no returning players heading into last season, the Cardinal girls faced an uphill battle of learning on the fly with plenty of new faces seeing action for the first time.
The new school year is upon us and it is a very exciting time! It is so great to see students starting to come in the building for activities and to meet with school staff. Our 9th graders were at school this week for Freshman Connections, where they toured the school, participated in team-building, and met their homeroom teachers. On Aug. 31, students will have the opportunity to pick up schedules, find classes, and meet teachers at Back-to-School Night, which runs from 6-8 p.m. School starts on Sept. 6.

Home delivery is available to those residing in Wabasso, Wanda, Lucan, Seaforth, Vesta, Delhi, Lamberton, Redwood Falls, Clements, Morton, Fairfax, Franklin, Gibbon, and Winthrop. To order a meal, or for more information, call Diane at 507-829-2385. You are asked to call one day prior by noon to order a meal. The cost is $4 a meal for those ages 60 and over; $2 on Thursdays for Wabasso residents. Menus are subject to change.
Opal Pettis Opal Pettis, 98, passed away August 25, 2022, at Morningside Heights Care Center in Marshall. A Funeral Service will be held at 2 p.m.
There will be a Celebration of Life for Truman A. Johnson on September 10, 2022, at Belview.
Addison Lynn Knott, 7, of Wabasso passed away unexpectedly in an accident at their farm on Thursday, August 25, 2022. A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m.
