Never gave up on my dream to become a professional motocross racer

My name is Mitchell Prescott, son of Jeanne Prescott and Dion Prescott. I was born and raised in Redwood Falls. I started riding dirt bike when I was six years old and jumping the ditches in my dad’s front yard on the Lower Sioux Reservation. At the age of 12, I saved up enough money to buy my first dirt bike, an 85cc dirt bike. I didn’t start racing competitively until I was 14 years old. This started my desire to race dirt bike. I had to get a job, so I started working in fields to earn money to help support my dream. I then decided to sell my 85cc as I needed to upgrade to a bigger dirt bike, so once again I began to save my money and sold my 85cc to purchase a second hand Super Mini dirt bike, and began to set my sites on racing. Once I started racing, it opened a whole new passion for me. At the age of 14, I had my heart set on becoming a Professional Motocross Racer. Despite all the set-backs with injuries and your unexpected bike problems, I worked my way through the amateur ranks and achieved one of my biggest goals, to become a Pro racer. In October, (now age 22), I was able to earn my Professional Motocross license. All of the hard work and dedication I put into the sport has paid off.
