Photo-Caption:Minnesota 3rd District Veterans of Foreign Wars Commander Matt Martin recommended VFW member Jon Thoreson for a VFW Life Membership. Based on a long-time commitment to the Redwood County VFW Post #2553, the Officers of the Post 2553 awarded Thoreson a Meritorious Life Membership. Thoreson's qualifying service was during the Cuban Missile Crisis with foreign duty in Greenland as a Missile Crewman. Quartermaster Roger Zollner and Commander Jerry Ludwig presented the Life Membership Medal and certificate at Duffy's Restaurant during one of their Monday Veteran's nights.
