On Wednesday, Aug. 27, Redwood Valley’s back-to-school night ended with an extracurricular fair, as students encouraged their peers to get involved at the start of the 2025-26 school year.

The August 18–19 Redwood Falls Community Blood Drive was a success, with 198 units collected, surpassing the two-day goal of 173 units. Thanks to the generosity of local donors, lives will be touched and strengthened across the region.

The Redwood Falls American Legion along with the Redwood County VFW recently hosted an All-Guards Reunion. The gathering was held at the Redwood Falls Legion Post #38 on Friday, Aug. 22 and Saturday, Aug. 23. The event was open to any member of the Minnesota National Guard who was assigned to the Redwood Falls Armory. Over 75 Veterans from the Korean Conflict through the Global War on Terror were in attendance. Many of the veterans were accompanied by family and friends. Phillip Rachie was the oldest in attendance, Mark Ruder was the youngest. Both were presented with Historical Minnesota State Flags. A Celebration of the US Army’s 250th birthday was held. VFW members in attendance received VFW #2553 Post 2025 All-American memorabilia.
Redwood Area Schools District #2897 recently announced the community open house for the new Redwood Valley Elementary School will be held Saturday, Oct. 25.
