Redwood County VFW Post 2553 earns May VFW Nation Commanders Challenge

Redwood County VFW Post 2553 earned the VFW Nation Commanders Challenge for May. The Commander’s Challenge is a monthly initiative by the Veterans of Foreign Wars where posts are encouraged to recruit new and reinstated members. The challenge is a way to motivate posts to recruit and retain members. The program is open to all VFW Posts and is a way to recognize and reward those who successfully recruit members. Redwood County VFW reached 125% of the established goals set by National Commander Al Lipphardt.

LINC Redwood County accepting applications for eighth program year

LINC Redwood County is now accepting applications for its eighth program year. LINC Redwood County engages community members to lead, inspire, network and create, to build a sustainable future in Redwood County. The nine-month program runs from September through May, with monthly sessions held at various locations across Redwood County. Eligible applicants include those who live, work or worship in Redwood County or have a child attending a school within the county may apply to participate in the program. A selection of 26 qualified participants are selected, representing diverse backgrounds and demonstrated interest in the county’s future.

Anne Johnson of Redwood Area Chamber and Tourism graduates from Institute for Organization Management A Leadership Training Program produced by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce

Institute for Organization Management, the professional development program of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, is pleased to announce that Anne Johnson, IOM, Executive Director, of Redwood Area Chamber and Tourism, has graduated from the program and has received the recognition of IOM. Awarded to all graduates of the Institute program, the IOM Graduate Recognition signifies the individual’s completion of 96 credit hours of course instruction in non-profit management. In addition, participants can earn credit hours towards the Certified Chamber Executive (CCE) or Certified Association Executive (CAE), certifications. Nearly 1,000 individuals attend Institute annually.
