Just like most jobs in industry, business and education, there is always an “Appreciation Week” to celebrate. In a quick search for the month of May, some of the weeks that are honored nationally are Small Business Week, Hospital Week, Emergency Medical Services Week, Nurse Week, Police Week and even National Bike to Work Week.
The Redwood Valley baseball team picked up its second win of the season with a nice 7-5 win over BOLD Saturday afternoon at Irish Yard in Milroy.

The magical run for the Redwood Valley boys tennis team continued this past week with big wins over Fairmont and state-ranked Litchfield.
Redwood County VFW Member David Tribble, along with Post Commander Jerry Ludwig, recently attended the MidwayUSA Foundations Day of Clays Minnesota event to raise money for local youth shooting sports teams. The event was a day of sporting clays and shotgun games at Rice Creek in Little Falls, Minnesota. The Day of Clays sporting clays tournament made a $200 donation per shooter up to $800 donation per squad. Additional donations were made by the Minnesota Sporting Clays Ass’n and Midway USA Foundation Marketing and Events Office.
Congratulations to the newly inducted WHS National Honor Society Members and all of the current members as well.

It was business as usual for Redwood Valley standout Will Ahrens as he broke his own school record in the 1,600 Saturday at the Howard Wood Relays in Sioux Falls.

One of the goals of the Redwood Area Chamber Ag Committee’s Scholarship Program is to promote and strengthen area agriculture by supporting college-bound students from rural communities as they pursue their academic goals.
