Cardinal girls rout Tigers
Nine girls reached the scoring column as Redwood Valley rolled to a 71-26 win over Springfield in recent non-conference girls basketball action.The Cards were led by Hailyn Ourada who buried four three’s on the way to a team-high 16 points, three steals and two rebounds.Kendall Huhnerkoch finished with 15 points and five boards and Kenzie Lundeen also knocked down four three’s and would finish with 12 points, seven assists, five rebounds and two steals.Kylee Larsen added nine points and eight boards, Cali Johnson had 10 points, three rebounds and three assists, Lilyana Dixon had three points and a steal, Brinn Wicks had two points, Melayna Nez had two points and two rebounds and Morgan Kodet added two points and nine boards.Friday night the Cards travelled to JCC and would fall 58-46 to the Huskies.Huhnerkoch led the way with 17 points and seven boards and Larsen had 14 points, 11 rebounds and two blocked shots.Lundeen added six points, five rebounds, five assists, two steals and two blocked shots, Johnson had five points, five rebounds and six assists and Kodet had four points and five boards.The Cards struggled from the floor, going just 3-of-21 from long range and hitting just 5-of-14 from the charity stripe.The Cards hosted Marshall Tuesday night and travel to Pipestone Area Friday.
