Minnesota’s Department of Management and Budget (MMB) released its February revenue forecast, providing information and an outlook for Minnesota’s financial picture. The report shows the surplus holding steady at $17.5 billion with inflation accounting for $1.4 billion going back into state spending automatically.

In the early hours of Wednesday, February 22, a bill to give convicted felons the right to vote, no matter their crime, passed the Minnesota Senate along party- lines. “This legislation allows violent criminals, including rapists and murderers, who are still on probation to vote,” said Senator Gary Dahms (R – Redwood Falls).

New reports by the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA) detail impairments affecting recreation, and fish and aquatic insect communities in the Redwood River Watershed in southwestern Minnesota. The reports recommend building upon many actions local groups have already taken to address water quality in the watershed.

Proceeds will go to the Willmar Public Library to help support collection development and library programs.

Avera Medical Group Optometry is moving to a new location in Redwood Falls at 900 E. Cook Street and will open at the new site starting Wednesday, March 1.
