Means stars for Cards in first varsity season

It was a memorable first season on varsity for Redwood Valley sophomore Lukas Means as he stamped his name in the record books and was a catalyst in leading the Cardinals to within one game of State. Means was part of a young Cardinal group that had the task of replacing 15 departed seniors and he made the most of his first varsity action by establishing himself early and often as one of the top young shooters in the entire state.

Winter brings out the beauty in nature

While the winter has been long and unbearable at times, one of the joys for me is getting a chance to see all the wildlife as it fights to make it through this season. Our area is full of eagles, deer, turkeys, pheasants, hawks, owls and so many other beautiful creatures. I’ve been lucky to be able to capture them and form a bond with them along the way. In this image you see a pair of doe I ran into on the river bottom and one decided to peak over her friend to check me out.

Republican proposal ensures sustainable funding for Minnesota’s roads and bridges

On Monday, March 20, the Senate Transportation Committee heard a Republican- backed proposal to ensure sustainable funding for Minnesota’s roads and bridges. Senate File 414 allows for 100% of tax revenue from the sale of auto parts to go from the general fund to the Highway User Tax Distribution Fund (HUTDF). This funding would help rebuild transportation infrastructure throughout Minnesota, including in small cities and townships.

8th grade Cardinal of the Month

Why was Grace Blare nominated for Cardinal of the Month? Grace has been nominated for Cardinal of the Month for being a positive role model at RVMS. Grace’s has a shining personality, and always has a smile on her face. She is responsible in the classroom, and is always willing to help around the classroom and others. Grace is kind to everyone, and has been a great leader this year. It has been a pleasure getting to know Grace over the last four years!

Redwood County EDA hosts virtual Strategic Plan overview

The Redwood County Economic Development Authority (EDA) Board, County Commissioners, County Administrator, and Economic Development Coordinator embarked in strategic planning activities beginning late summer of 2022. Through a process of gathering and analyzing insights from a broad array of stakeholders, the EDA was able to establish strategic priorities for the next 24 months and the key objectives. The priorities and strategies included in the plan were identified as the best ways for the EDA to catalyze business retention, job creation, and economic growth.

Bill Jack speaking at Northwood Church on April 23

On April 23 Rev. Bill Jack from Worldview Academy will be visiting Northwood Church in Redwood Falls. Jack is a co-founder of Worldview Academy and an educator with ten years’ experience in secular schools and 14 years with The Caleb Campaign, a creationist youth ministry. Jack has spoken to thousands of students and parents around the nation, and he has appeared on various radio, podcast, and television programs. Jack’s passion is to raise up a generation who have the vision to reach their culture with the gospel, who have the valor to engage that culture with the truth, and who rely on the virtue of the Word of God. Jack will be speaking April 23 at 10 a.m. at Northwood Church in Redwood Falls. Northwood Church will also be having two Wednesday night pre-visit services with Bill Jack videos – on Wednesday April 12 and April 19 at 7 p.m. at Northwood Church.
