Letter to editor: The Jan. 19, “What to know when a CO2 Pipeline comes to your community” article says, “Minnesotans should know and be able to decide if there are more effective ways to spend public money to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.” But I ask; why even spend ‘ANY’ money ‘to reduce greenhouse gas emissions’? I’ve been writing editorials in opposition to “‘Man-made’ global warming” for over 15 years.

To the editor:

Why are the taxpayers asked to vote on another new school referendum in April? The vote in the fall of 2022 for the building of a new elementary school and the demolition of the current Reede Gray school was defeated, showing that the taxpayers clearly wanted to repair the Reede Gray school building and not tear it down. What kind of thinking is driving the superintendent and the school board to do what taxpayers don’t want, and that is a new school building.

SMSU announces results from 12th Annual AgBowl Scholarship Invitational

Southwest Minnesota State University hosted the 12th Annual Ag Bowl Scholarship Invitational, presented by Ralco Nutrition of Marshall, on Friday, Feb. 3. Over 1,100 FFA students from across the state came to the campus of Southwest Minnesota State University for this year’s invitational. Congressman Brad Finstad and Congresswoman Michelle Fischbach were part of the opening program and visited with FFA students and advisors during their visit.
