Join Scott knutson (48) and his daughter Connie Dunn (26) in their fight against cancer on March 4 from 1–4 p.m. at Odeon Hall in Belview.

My family and I held a memorial service this past Thursday for my dad. He had been suffering with Alzheimer’s disease, which had made his last few months very difficult both for him. I had the privilege of reading the obituary at his service. This gave me the opportunity of quoting one of my favorite verses: [A]ll the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be —David, Psalm 139:16b (NIV). I knew that my dad had lived to the ripe old age of 88 years, 8 months and 13 days. But I was curious to break down his lifespan into days. I do that with things like birthdays and anniversaries. It absolutely drives my wife nuts — but yes, we’re still married. Anyway, I found that my dad had actually lived 32,400 days. He lived long enough to see the Minnesota Twins win two world championships, but never his beloved Minnesota Vikings. None of us may live long enough to see that.
