Stephen (Steve) Johanneck

Stephen (Steve) Johanneck of Plymouth, formerly of Robbinsdale, passed away peacefully of natural causes on November 17, 2022, at age 70, mercifully ending his struggle with Primary Progressive Aphasia and Parkinson’s. Steve was born on May 2, 1952, in Wabasso to Lenus and Marie Johanneck. He graduated from Wabasso High School in 1970 then attended Southwest State in Marshall earning degrees in math, physics and mechanical engineering. Steve worked as a mechanical engineer in Duluth and the Twin Cities retiring from Garlock Safety Systems in 2017. Steve was a devoted husband and father. He enjoyed helping friends design a gyrocopter, Saturday breakfasts with the guys and annual trips to the EAA show in Oshkosh. Steve contributed his musical talents to church and handbell choirs and 25 years of musical theater performances. Steve is survived by his wife of 38 years, Carol, and sons Charles and Samuel. He is also survived by sisters Beth Johanneck and Anne Hammerschmidt, brothers Philip (Agnes), Kevin, Bob (Pat), Jeff, Peter and Dan, brother-in-law Tim Sherck, many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Help during conflict

“You will hear of wars and threats of wars, but don’t panic. Yes, these things must take place, but the end won’t follow immediately. Nation will go to war against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in many parts of the world.” Matthew 24: 7,8 These are some of the words of Jesus, as he talked about how world conditions would be just before He returns. There are more than 20 major conflicts going on in the world right now. The Russia and Ukraine war is just one of many wars, but it is the one that we have some personal awareness of.

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Wabasso Senior Dining is only offering home delivery of meals, until further notice. Home delivery is available to those residing in Wabasso, Wanda, Lucan, Seaforth, Vesta, Delhi, Lamberton, Redwood Falls, Clements, Morton, Fairfax, Franklin, Gibbon, and Winthrop. To order a meal, or for more information, call Diane at 507-829-2385. You are asked to call one day prior by noon to order a meal. The cost is $4 a meal for those ages 60 and over; $2 on Thursdays for Wabasso residents. Menus are subject to change.
