A solid overall season came to an end for the Cedar Mountain Cougars Thursday night in Mankato as they fell to top-seeded Cleveland 3-1 in the Section 2A-South Sub-Section title game. The Cougars (21-10) split the first two sets with the Clippers (2210) falling 25-11 in set number one but taking set two by a score of 25-18.

Redwood Area Hockey Association will be hosting a 5K Run/Walk on Saturday, Nov. 12 to raise money for veterans. Check-in/registration will begin at 9 a.m. and the shotgun start at 9:30 a.m. at “Army Tank Park” (Westside Park). The run will end at the Redwood Area Community Center hockey doors.
Holding Cedar Mountain to just 14 points the Hancock Owls advanced on to the Section 3A-9 Man Championship with a 32-14 win over the Cougars Saturday afternoon in Hancock. A year ago the Cougars (7-3) upset the Owls (9-1) to advance to the Section title game, but this time the Owls would keep the Cougar offense in check and earn a match-up with top seed RCW (10-0) in Saturday’s Section title game.
