MnDOT 2022 construction season: nearly 260 projects advance traffic safety, mobility and accessibility

As winter weather arrives across most of the state, the Minnesota Department of Transportation is wrapping up the 2022 construction season during which the agency advanced or completed 258 road and bridge projects. “This year’s robust road construction season significantly improved Minnesota’s transportation system with new roads, bridges, safer intersections, and improved accessibility for people who walk, bike or roll to their local destinations,” said MnDOT Commissioner Nancy Daubenberger.

Statewide Tour by Professor Joseph Gaugler, PhD

Minnesota farmer brings veterans and cattle producers together

Dawn Breitkreutz grew up in a small town in Minnesota, struggled through high school and wasn’t sure what she wanted to do with her life. Her mom passed away when she was 15, and she felt lost and in need of direction. A military recruiter visited Dawn’s high school, the opportunity to serve sounded interesting, and she was off to basic training in San Antonio, Texas.

LSIC awarded broadband grant as apart of TBCP

Lower Sioux Indian Community (Cansayapi Otunwe) is proud to announce an awarding of a broadband grant for $1,995,787 as part of the Biden-Harris Administration’s Tribal Broadband Connectivity Program (TBCP) that is administered by the Department of Commerce’s National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA). During the pandemic, Lower Sioux realized just how important broadband connectivity was to the community as children relied on it for schooling, adults needed it for work and the whole community utilized it to stay connected. This Lower Sioux Broadband will provide affordable efficient fiber directly to 160+ homes and businesses within the community. This endeavor will allow for the control of infrastructure broadband services and in doing so, it will give the capabilities to control not only the current broadband needs but will also allow for future planning as the community expands.
