County Board approves request for Galstad Farm to be used as a rental space

Redwood County Board of Commissioners held a meeting on Sept. 6 and adopted the resolution approving the amended local option sales tax road and bridge five-year project list. The 2021 five-year plan had three board workshops and four additional public hearings. The next five-year plan update will occur in 2023, pending results of the $80 million in discretionary federal funding applications for RURAL (Rural Surface Transportation) Grant, RAISE (Rebuilding American Infrastructure with Sustainability and Equity) Grant and BIP (Bridge Investment Program) Grant applications.

Cougars stay unbeaten with win over Falcons

In their first real test of the season the Cedar Mountain Cougars passed with flying colors as they topped host Edgerton 20-8 Friday night in nine-man action. A pair of second quarter touchdowns would give the Cougars (3-0) some cushion as Cooper Freitag hit Lane Guggisberg on a 20-yard strike and Freitag would then connect with the elusive Brandon Pendleton on a 69yard touchdown that made it 14-0 at the half.

The Little Lad

With a wave and a smile the little lad acknowledged the gentleman standing in the pew directly behind him. With tilted heads— one upward and the other down—their eyes met. Intentional it was on the part of the lad as the eyes behind the saucer-like layers of glass glared back.

Wabasso senior dining menu through Friday, Sept. 23

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Wabasso Senior Dining is only offering home delivery of meals, until further notice. Home delivery is available to those residing in Wabasso, Wanda, Lucan, Seaforth, Vesta, Delhi, Lamberton, Redwood Falls, Clements, Morton, Fairfax, Franklin, Gibbon, and Winthrop. To order a meal, or for more information, call Diane at 507-829-2385. You are asked to call one day prior by noon to order a meal. The cost is $4 a meal for those ages 60 and over; $2 on Thursdays for Wabasso residents. Menus are subject to change.
